Dana’s international legal and technical training give her a unique perspective in the service of BF&F’s clients. Dana completed her undergraduate studies in food science and biotechnology, graduated at the top of her class in law school, and worked as a patent attorney at DK Choi & Partners in Seoul before moving to the U.S. from her homeland of Korea. 

A reflection of her technical breadth, Dana has experience in patentability analyses, and the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in a wide range of technical fields in the life sciences including molecular biology, gene therapy, immunology, oncology, microfluidics, medical devices, new materials, fiber optics, agricultural science, food engineering, cosmetic chemistry, and green technology.  

She has experience in patent prosecution   before the United States Patent Office, as well as experience in coordinating with local counsel around the world to procure patent rights for clients. Dana also provides support in freedom to operate searches and analyses and support in IP due diligence. 

As a result of her work as a patent attorney in Korea, Dana also has direct experience in prosecution of utility patents, design patents, and trademarks before the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
