Bret’s clients look to him for advice regarding a diverse array of technologies, including biotechnology, life science reagents, drug delivery systems, medical devices, analytical devices, green technology and chemistry. He assists his clients in patent procurement, freedom to operate and intellectual property due diligence analyses, as well as trademark registration. Several of the patents that Bret has obtained for his clients have been litigated, giving him the experience needed to obtain enforceable proprietary rights for his clients.

During his career, Bret has had the opportunity to work as both outside and in-house patent counsel, as well as serve as Board Director for an emerging consumer product and health care corporation, providing him with unique insights which allow him to effectively serve his clients.

Bret has also taken a lead role in training junior practitioners, including establishing a program to provide STEM students at Dartmouth with experience in patent law prosecution.

Bret also serves as General Counsel overseeing BF&F’s legal affairs, including risk management, ethics, and compliance-related issues.
