Jenny’s experience outside the law firm setting—first as a Patent Agent at Incyte Corporation and later in the same role working for the Office of Technology Licensing at Stanford University—has guided her sense of a client's needs. 

“My experience on the client side has helped me understand the different roles patents can have as assets. In some instances, each can be a building block for a larger business strategy. In others, the patent application is filed to capture the inventions that flow from a foundational discovery, which in turn provides a means to bring that discovery to the public.”

Jenny’s scientific training and experience is both wide-ranging and in-depth, including a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and chemistry, graduate studies in biochemistry, and post-doctoral studies in X-ray crystallography. Her graduate and postdoctoral research included hands-on experience with site-directed mutagenesis, cloning, polymerase chain reaction, cell culture, protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, x-ray crystallography, and spectroscopy.
